Believe it or not, a modern contemporary home always gives off a natural and refreshing feel that comes off naturally from the choice of materials used – a harmonious combination of wood, marble and greenery.
The designer had in mind a relaxing and warm home that allows the privacy of personal space yet enough room for communal activities for the whole family.
Light wood material is used to create warmth and the refreshing green wall near the entrance helps soothe the senses the moment you return home.
As too many earthy elements can be heavy on the aesthetics, cool stainless steel is incorporated into the design to balance off the warmth.
A deliberate use of marble is seen throughout the home – from the TV feature wall and display niche in the living room (which hides a discreet shoe cabinet) to the island kitchen and master bedroom – to create a luxurious mood.
Caesarstone marble is the choice of material here as it looks exactly like marble yet is more economical and lasting.
As the kitchen is the heart of the home, the wide display cabinet helps to keep things organized as well as provide a mini showcase of what holds the family together.
To create a non-cluttered look, this design also incorporates Ciseern’s original curved door invention where no door handles are required as the slightly protruding curved edge serves as a handle.
The main focus of the master bedroom is the extension of the headboard where a celebration of details can be seen. A unique combination of glass, art installation and cushion panel helps to create a multi-dimensional effect. The glass and mirror mix creates the illusion of brighter, wider space and the cove lighting is the icing on the cake for the ensuing air of sophistication.
Any youngster would love to have a room like this to him or herself. The loft design not only creates a private enclave where the bed occupies the upper level but the clever use of wall to create storage and shelves means there’s ample space for books, toys and games.
